Nova Education Trust

Click here for an update on the consultation process.

The Nova Education Trust is a proposed new Multi-Academy Trust which will be created by merging four current Nottinghamshire-based education trusts.

The proposed Nova Education Trust will be formed by the Djanogly Learning Trust, Nottingham University Samworth Academies Trust and the Nottingham University Academy of Science and Technology Trust joining the Torch Academy Gateway Trust.

This will form a new Multi-Academy Trust with six secondary schools and five primary schools located across the city and county. It is hoped that the new trust would begin operating from the 1st September 2016.

To begin this process, the four trusts have launched an eight-week consultation period and invite any interested parties to submit comments or observations using this website.

In addition, we have provided an FAQ section on this website to help address any wider questions around the proposed merger.

Every day we will...

Educate over 6,000 students
Teach over 1,000 lessons
Employ over 750 staff
Operate 10 schools
Share 1 vision

Our shared vision

The trusts that will form the Nova Education Trust are committed to providing the very best educational opportunities for children and young people by striving to further develop outstanding teaching and care in all our schools.

We will be guided by three simple principles that define our ethos and underpin the work we do:

  • We are dedicated to providing opportunity for all through high quality education provision
  • We are focused on delivering the highest levels of attainment for every child in our care
  • We are committed to being a socially responsible employer and community partner

A message from the Trust Directors

The Governing Bodies of the four trusts involved in the proposed merger would like to thank you for visiting this consultation website.

We believe that schools and academies exist only to serve in the very best interests of young people at all times. By proposing this merger each of our trusts believes that we are creating a single organisation that will be able to build on current success and offer the very best opportunities for our students in the future.

This is not a cost saving exercise, although all schools will benefit from economies of scale. This is a considered decision with the single aim of ensuring that each of our schools and academies has the resources and skills to guarantee our students can achieve their full potential and lead rich and rewarding lives.

A more detailed case for the merger is outlined on this website and we would welcome feedback from all interested parties through the online consultation form.

Thank you again for your interest in this proposal.
